Only in Vietnam #11 12 November 2010

Yesterday, an erratic car cut me off on the road.

Albeit that this is not exactly a strange occurrence in Vietnam, I did feel the need to stare into the car to give the driver a dirty look – which instead gave me a bit of a shock.

The woman driving had a wriggling two year old child on her lap, who was clearly chucking a tantrum, which was the reason for the car swerving all over the place. No seat belts were worn, either.

That might rank up there with the earlier story I posted about the child standing in the passenger seat of the black Mercedes with her head through the sunroof while the car was driving in terms of traffic safety…
