Gearing up for Tet 3 February 2010

Slowly, traffic is becoming heavier in the capital.

Kumquat trees that are laden with fruit, causing the branches to bounce up and down as the transport they are precariously perched on the back of weaves through the busy streets.

Branches with peach blossoms which do not look at all withered are adorning the garbage trolleys of garbage collectors, brightening their job as they go through their day.

Banh chung comes in square packages of banana leaf; containing glutinous rice and meat and egg, and are sold on every corner.

It seems it is nearing Tet. Enjoy the last two weeks of the year of the Buffalo, everyone. And we will see each other in the year of the Tiger.
